【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoverssamplingandanalysisproceduresfortheinvestigationofspecifiedpopulationsofstress-gradedstructurallumber.Dependingontheinterestoftheuser,thepopulationfromwhichsamplesaretakenmayrangefromthelumberfromaspecificmilltoallthelumberproducedinaparticulargradefromaparticulargeographicarea,duringsomespecifiedintervaloftime.Thispracticegenerallyassumesthatthepopulationissufficientlylargesothat,forsamplingpurposes,itmaybeconsideredinfinite.Wherethisassumptionisinadequate,thatis,thepopulationisassumedfinite,manyoftheprovisionsofthispracticemaybeemployedbutthesamplingandanalysisproceduremustbedesignedtoreflectafinitepopulation.Thestatisticaltechniquesembodiedinthispracticeprovideprocedurestosummarizedatasothatlogicaljudgmentscanbemade.Thispracticedoesnotspecifytheactiontobetakenaftertheresultshavebeenanalyzed.Theactiontobetakendependsontheparticularrequirementsoftheuseroftheproduct.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
