【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminethemoisturecontentofmaterials(raworspent)thataretobeextractedfortanninanalysis.Thevalueobtainedformoisturecontentbythistestmethodisusedtocalculatetheresultsoftheotheranalysesonthismaterialtoamoisture-freebasis.ThespecimensareobtainedfromthematerialpreparedforextractioninPracticeD6405.Tanningmaterialscontainmoistureinvaryingamounts,dependingbothonthenatureofthematerialandontheclimaticconditions,thereforesamplingmustbecarriedoutasquicklyasisconsistentwiththoroughnessinordertoavoidchangesinmoisturecontent.Negativeerrorsmayoccurinthemoisturedeterminationbecauseundertheconditionsofthismethodtheremayberetentionofmoisturebycertaincomponents(forexample,hydratedsaltsorwaterboundtoorganicstructures)oftheraworspentmaterialorbecauseofoxidationofothercomponents(forexample,tannins)oftheraworspentmaterial.Positiveerrorsmayoccurinthemoisturedeterminationbecauseundertheconditionsofthistestmethodtheremaybevolatilizationofcertaincomponentsoftheraworspentmaterialotherthanwater.Itisknownthatotherfactorscanalsoaffectthequantityofvolatilematter(moisture)releasedbythespecimen.Thesefactorsincludebutarenotlimitedto:particlesizeofthetestspecimen,quantityoftestspecimen,oventemperature,exposuretimeintheoven,shapeofthespecimencontainer,andtypeofoven(forexample,gravityormechanicalconvection)used.Becauseofthepossibilityofunknownerrorsinthistestmethoditisessentialthatthemethodbefollowedexactlyinordertoobtainreproducibleresultsbothamongspecimenswithinalaboratoryandforanalysesbetweenlaboratories.1.1Thistestmethodisintendedforuseindeterminingthemoisturecontentinrawandspentmaterialsthatareextractedfortanninanalysis.Themoisturecontentofthesampleisoperationallydefinedtobeequaltotheweightlossexperiencedasaresultoftheevaporationwhichoccursinthedryingoven.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
