【摘要】:Thecolorofasbestosisofcommercialsignificancewhenitistobeincorporatedintoproducts,thecolorofwhichisaffectedbythecoloroftheasbestos,andforwhichcolorspecificationsmustbemet.Whitenessisrequiredofasbestosforuseinwhiteorpale-coloredproducts.Yellownessissignificantinasbestosforuseinpastel-coloredproductswherediscoloredasbestosmaypreventattainmentofcertainshadesandhuesdetector.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofcolor,whiteness,andyellownessofasbestosbymeansofaphotoelectricreflectometer.1.2Thetestmethodisapplicabletoallgradesandvarietiesofhomogeneousmilledasbestos.1.3Thistestmethodmaybeappliedtosamplesthatarenotdryorhomogeneous,orthatcontainimpuritiesoradulterants.However,insuchcases,resultsmaynotbecomparablewiththoseobtainedoncleandrysamples.1.4Toobtainsimilarresultsfromspectrophotometers,seeTestMethodE308.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSI(metric)unitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Theinch-pound(customary)unitsareforinformationonly.1.6Breathingofasbestosdustishazardous.Asbestosandasbestosproductspresentdemonstratedhealthrisksforusersandforthosewithwhomtheycomeintocontact.Inadditiontootherprecautions,whenworkingwithasbestos-cementproducts,minimizethedustthatresults.Forinformationonthesafeuseofchrysotileasbestos,referto"SafeUseofChrysotile:AManualofPreventiveandControlMeasures."Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
